Tony Carnie is an environmental journalist based in Durban, South Africa. He writes on a wide variety of global and national environmental issues, including aviation emissions, air pollution and climate change. After many years at Independent Newspapers, he switched to freelancing five years ago and now writes for the Daily Maverick, New Frame and other titles. He has won a CNN African Journalist of the Year award for an investigation into the links between childhood cancer and industrial air pollution. Tony has also attended IATA annual meetings in Beijing, Istanbul and Dublin.
